The History of Maison Alizée
I grew up in Sambava, a small town in northeastern Madagascar, in a region blessed by nature where each season brings its own treasures. My earliest memories are filled with flavors: the different varieties of bananas we enjoyed at all hours of the day, the incomparable freshness of coconuts, the sweetness of lychees, the tiare flowers whose fragrance filled our gardens, the intoxicating scent of ylang-ylang, and of course, Bourbon black vanilla, that black gold that is the pride of my native region.
The major festivals in Madagascar, evenings spent in Sambava’s restaurants, and my introduction to French cuisine shaped my palate and fueled my passion for exceptional ingredients. Together with my husband, a true connoisseur of fine dining, this passion has become my life’s work.
In October 2025, we founded Maison Alizée, driven by a shared vision: that of an ethical company that celebrates authenticity. Our mission is simple yet demanding: to select and offer you the best of Madagascar, with complete transparency regarding the origin of each product.
Today, we work with my family in Madagascar to source the finest beans. This bond of family trust is at the heart of our approach: we know the producers personally and guarantee quality right from the source. Because for us, importing from Madagascar isn’t just a business—it’s a mission that’s close to our hearts.
Our Vision
We have a clear goal: to make Maison Alizée the leading French source of exceptional vanilla and, eventually, to expand our selection to include other rare spices (wild peppers, Bourbon Pointu coffee, fine cocoa) while adhering to the same principles—full traceability and fair compensation.
Trois valeurs guident nos décisions : l’authenticité (un produit tel qu’il est, sans marketing trompeur), l’éthique (des relations longues avec les producteurs, pas des achats opportunistes), et la confiance (une information honnête sur ce que vous achetez).
