Our Bourbon vanilla beans 50 g come directly from the SAVA region, the historic birthplace of this exceptional spice. Hand-harvested by our partner producers in Sambava, they embody the essence of Malagasy craftsmanship, passed down from generation to generation.
Each packet contains between 9 and 15 pods based on size, each one carefully selected for its suppleness, luster, and fragrance. From the variety Vanilla planifolia, recognized worldwide as the most aromatic and highly prized among culinary professionals.

The Gourmet quality is the most demanding category in the vanilla grading system. It involves strict criteria that we adhere to for every batch:
- Fleshy pods that are soft and oily to the touch—never dry or brittle
- Vanillin content ranging from 1.6% to 2.4%, ensuring an intense and complex aroma
- Optimal humidity level between 30% and 35% to preserve freshness
- Average length of 16 to 17 cm, indicating full ripeness on the vine

Storage instructions
Our Bourbon vanilla beans keep best 2 years in their vacuum-sealed bag, away from light, heat, and moisture. Once opened, transfer them to an airtight container or jar. Never store them in the refrigerator: the moisture will cause mold to form and spoil their aroma.
💡 Good to know : The 2-year shelf life is approximate. If stored properly, a vanilla bean can remain perfectly usable for much longer.
